| "I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers" ~ Claude Monet | ![]() |

Nothing could be closer to the truth. When I am asked, where do you find joy? I can easily say that I find it in the eyes, hearts and souls of those I meet everyday, especially in my grandchildren. But what feeds my soul? Nature, sunrises and sunsets, beaches, dew soaked gardens….ahh but it is flowers that make my soul complete and my heart soar. Having moved 23 times in my life, I plant a flower garden as soon as possible. I garden to grow flowers that I am inspired to paint. Painting from fresh flowers gives an aliveness and detail to my paintings that just doesn’t come out in photos. But I also love to paint them spontaneously and with a riot of color, texture and joy, big, bold, in your face. Silk is the strongest of all natural fibers. Yet the soft drape of the silk and the flow of the silk dyes create spontaneity and freshness which makes my flower and garden paintings seem to come alive! Come into my artful garden and share the exquisiteness of nature. | ![]() |
